Mayak “Drug” Eggs
I’m not sure who named this recipe, but ‘mayak’ means narcotics… and I’m guessing these eggs could be potentially addictive for some?
While I think the name is a bit of a stretch 😂, I really like making them cause they’re easy, delicious, and scalable (just boil more eggs)!
If you’re bored of having boiled eggs as they are, give this a go. It’s an easy protein source to have on hand. Adjust the aromatics as you like—I’m Team Garlic so I’m usually using about 4-5 cloves.
You can find the full recipe below! And if you’re more of a visual learner (I know I am), you can also watch the steps here.
THE RECIPE
MAKES 6 EGGS
Ingredients
Marinade
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup water
4 small red/green chillis, sliced
2 bunches spring onion, sliced
3-6 cloves minced garlic
1” ginger, grated
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Directions
Drop eggs into boiling water for 6 minutes.
Once done, add to ice water to stop the cooking.
Mix all the ingredients of the marinade into the storage container you’ll be using.
Peel the eggs and place into the container.
Store overnight and enjoy over the next 3-5 days!
Notes
Buy old garlic if you want easy peeling.
