UOB Sustainability Festival
Every bite we take has a bigger impact than we think - on our health, and on the planet.
I recently had the privilege of kicking off UOB's inaugural Sustainability Festival with a nutrition workshop on a topic close to my heart: the powerful connection between nutrition and sustainability.
It’s a link we don’t talk about enough: our health and the environment are deeply connected. Every food choice affects not just our bodies, but also the future of the planet.
In this 1-hour session, UOB employees from the region learned practical, easy-to-apply ways to eat better for their health while reducing their "foodprint" in the context of Southeast Asia. They walked away with tools they could use right away, from small shifts on their plate to simple ways to reduce food waste.
While it was a fully virtual workshop (and over lunch time at that!), the energy was high. Everyone was engaged and participated through polls and the Q&A. One of my favourite parts of my workshops is always seeing those "lightbulb" moments. In fact, many shared that their most interesting takeaway was learning sustainable foods they never knew about prior. Isn't it more fun when you know what you can eat more of, rather than what you should stop eating ;)
It was wonderful to receive glowing feedback from the participants. Many said that the session was engaging and more importantly, they walked away with newfound knowledge on sustainability and nutrition. One participant even shared that this topic is rarely discussed in their home country, which only tells us how important it is to keep these conversations going.
A big thank you to UOB's Group Corporate Sustainability Office for having me. I'm looking forward to future sessions!
If you're interested in bringing a nutrition workshop to your organisation, I'd be glad to share more about my sessions and topics that can be tailored to your team's specific goals. Get in touch here to start!
